Pat Cummins, who is turning thirty-one today, considers his IPL career, his successes, and his amusing post-win adventures at home.
Resurfaced on social media is a video of Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins, who turned 31 today, remembering his Indian Premier League (IPL) victory with the Kolkata Knight Riders. Cummins spoke with an interviewer last year about his time with the KKR, where he played his final season in 2022. The Australian captain is heard in the video discussing the lavish celebrations that followed KKR’s win in the 2014 Indian Premier League. I had been a member of the Knight Riders of Kolkata. We returned to Kolkata a few days after the final, I believe in 2013, and we went to the stadium to perform a sort of walking fanfare. And the stadium was full, according to Cummins.
33 appearances. 32 wickets. 8.91 economy rate. 310 runs. 66* highest score. 3 fifties.

On the social media site X, a fan posted the video (previously Twitter). The social media user congratulated the Australian on an outstanding career with the Kolkata Knight Riders and wished Pat Cummins a happy birthday in the message. 33 instances. thirty-two wickets. Economy rate: 8.91. 310 sprints. highest score of 66*. Three fifty. “Happy birthday, Pat,” the post said. Cummins continued in the video to discuss how thousands of people had come to see their favourite team play. “It’s just a different world; there were hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the team, and there were eighty to ninety thousand people just waving at the team,” he continued.
Then Pat Cummins made a joke about how, despite winning one of the biggest cricket trophies, he wasn’t exactly a rockstar in his home. “And then, you return home, and your significant other doesn’t even give you a look. He remarked, “Like, hang on, I had half a million people two days ago.” Cummins spent the majority of his IPL career as a player with the Kolkata Knight Riders. In 2014, after the franchise defeated the Kings XI Punjab (now known as the Punjab Kings) in the championship game, he raised the IPL trophy. The elite pacer has maintained a close relationship with his previous team even after leaving.
Pat Cummins played for the Kolkata Knight Riders during his six-season IPL career, beginning in 2014. In 2022, he participated in his last season with KKR. Cummins was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for an incredible 20.50 crores at this season’s IPL auction. Cummins has amassed 77 runs for the Hyderabad-based team in 11 games thus far, along with 13 wickets taken.
